PRIORITIES
The Florida PBA’s legislative work stands as the voice of law enforcement. Our legislative team is
engaged at the Capitol every day of the session, working directly with lawmakers to advocate for the
issues that matter most to our members and their families.
We track legislation daily, attend committee meetings, and respond quickly when proposals impact
law enforcement—pushing good policy forward and working to stop bills that threaten our
members.
Compensation & Benefits for Members
We are fighting for fair pay, strong benefits, and secure retirement protections for law enforcement
officers. This includes tracking legislation focused on compensation, benefits, and the long-term
financial security of those who protect us.
Protecting the Rights of Law Enforcement
The Florida PBA is committed to defending due process and workplace protections for our
members. We oppose legislation that unfairly targets members or strips away rights, and we work to
ensure our members are treated fairly and with respect.
Safety of Law Enforcement Officers & Their Families
Officer safety is always a top priority. We are supporting legislation such as HB 0017 and SB 0156,
which focus on improving safety, resources, and protections for officers, while remaining vigilant
against proposals that put officers or their families at risk.
